Today 30,000 ADM employees around the globe convert oilseeds, corn, wheat and cocoa into products for food, animal feed, industrial and energy uses. With more than 265 processing plants,400 procurement facilities and the world’s premier crop transportation network, ADM helps connect the harvest to the home in more than 160 countries.
In the UK ADM owns the oilseed crushing plant in Erith Kent together with seven flour mills making it the largest independent flour miller. ADM Direct was formed initially to source rapeseed and milling wheat for their processing plants, but latterly has broadened its scope to trade in all combinable crops. ADM Direct is now among the ten largest grain trading companies in the UK.
Barry Howard is the grain trader backed up by Paul Agazarian and there is full representation in the office at Framlingham. Members have up to date information available on the state of the trade and an unbiased opinion on the prospects for grain prices. A text service is supplied, particularly when a significant market change is taking place.
Members have access to a number of specific contracts through ADM Direct. These offer considerable benefits in terms of premium and availability. The company has taken care to limit risk in the event of crop failure. Credit insurance covers all sales made by ADM Direct.
