The Farm Input Purchasing Department currently purchases well over £140m of farm inputs annually on behalf of 1400 Members. In addition we purchase on behalf of other cooperatives, for example electricity. All types of farm requisites are supplied and the purchasing service is provided by a dedicated team of professional and experienced buyers working on your behalf.
Approximately 1200 supplier accounts are maintained, covering every input required for the farm, farm office and farmhouse / cottages. Members can confidently expect to purchase their inputs at consistently competitive prices, coupled with a significant time saving and simplification of administration.
Members can email, telephone or fax their purchasing requirements to the office or, in the case of lower-value goods, order/collect direct from an approved supplier.
Importantly, the buying decision remains with the Member. We take no speculative positions in the market. All products are delivered direct to farm, with no stock being held by Fram Farmers. This maintains a low level of overheads – our cost to turnover ratio for the past year was 1.2%.
On major purchases, Members are always encouraged to contact the purchasing team rather than buy direct. A catalogue of suppliers is continually updated and made available to Members.
